Nostr Compass 1.2.0 for Android

Nostr Compass 1.2.0 uses pure black surfaces, white text and outlined controls throughout the Android interface. Sheets, menus and navigation follow the same AMOLED theme.

Sending a voice note or reply immediately puts the locally saved recording in the voice-note timeline as pending. Upload and Amber signing update that same item. The delivery check mark appears only after the signed event has been confirmed by an exact relay query, not after signing alone. The local item and its relay echo stay one item, so a refresh does not duplicate the recording. An editor's exclusions still hide cut notes.

Verified profile names have their own cache, independent of conversation retention. Both incoming and outgoing voice notes show a small 20 dp avatar. Pictures are cached in private device storage for offline reuse, with bounded memory and disk use. Fetching an uncached picture contacts its HTTPS image host and can follow up to three validated HTTPS redirects within ten seconds. HTTP downgrades, credentials in URLs, nonstandard ports and loops are rejected. A failed download leaves a placeholder.

Recordings remain in private storage through upload failures. Missing signer approval or an unavailable network leaves a recoverable local note, not a delivery check mark. Clearing app data, uninstalling or storage failure can still lose local recordings. There are no ads or analytics.

Update through Zapstore and review the Android source.
